first_img“After all, yes, it was risky. If we had known what was going to happen in the next few weeks, we would have stayed at home, “says one of the fans present that day a few meters from where the game was taking place.”We did not worry because there were also many people in shopping malls. The concentration was validated by the police but I do not regret it because I will never forget this day, “Matthieu, another of those present, assured the French press. With more than 40,000 infected in France, one of the leaders of Collectif Ultras Paris, Romain Mabille, admits to Le Parisien that there are several members of the group who attended ‘the party’ that have tested positive by Covid-19 “but they don’t know if they took it that day, sooner or later”.Although the majority now admit to observing the situation with some fear, all affirm that they lived a historic night cheering their team from the outside and with the celebration together with the players, who after winning the Germans, went out to enjoy with the fans present. On March 11, Paris Saint-Germain made it through to the knockout stages of the Champions League by going 2-0 at Parc des Princes 2-1 in the first leg at Borussia Dortmund’s home. The Parisian stadium, one of the hottest in Europe on big nights, had no crowd since the Paris police decided to go behind closed doors as a security measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the French capital. They canceled the entrance to the stadium, but up to 4,000 fans did not want to miss a historic night and gathered near one of the funds to try to support theirs from outside. In Le Parisien they speak with several of the fans present that day who admit that they felt no danger of contagion. Furthermore, they claim, they had the police permission to meet, although crowds of more than 1,000 people had been banned since March 5.last_img read more
